A Little About Me
I’m Alan Lendrum, the person behind Alan Handyman.
My interest in repairing and improving properties goes back to 1999, when we bought a rundown 1930s semi-detached house that needed a complete refurbishment.
There was plenty to tackle, from replacing doors and windows to sorting out the kitchen, bathroom, plumbing and decorating. Even the garden was badly overgrown and needed a lot of attention.
It was quite a project to take on, but it was where my practical experience really began. Working through the different problems that come with an older property taught me a great deal about repairs, maintenance and finding practical solutions.
What started with renovating our own home gradually developed into something much more.
In 2014, I turned that experience into a professional handyman business, and I’ve been helping customers ever since.
How I Approach My Work
One of the things I’ve always enjoyed is finding a solution to a problem, particularly when something looks beyond repair or someone has struggled to find a tradesperson willing to take on the job.
Over the years, I’ve found that it’s often the smaller things around a property that cause the most frustration, even though they might not take long to put right.
I believe in being straightforward with people, turning up when agreed and treating their homes with the same care and respect I’d expect in my own.
The Person Behind Alan Handyman
When you contact Alan Handyman, you’re dealing directly with me. I’m the person who discusses the work with you and turns up to carry it out.
I’ve been working professionally since 2014 and carry £2 million public liability insurance.
Today, the majority of my work is in Norwich, where I help homeowners, landlords and returning customers look after their properties.
I take pride in what I do, and there’s nothing better than knowing someone is pleased with the work and happy to recommend me to others.
